DJW YOUTH ENSEMBLES

The Durham Jazz Workshop is now registering students for its 2022/2023 school year ensemble program. Our goal is to provide your kids an exceptional learning experience in a friendly, low stress setting. Both our small combos and big bands will challenge students to reach above their comfort zone while learning music from the classic jazz repertoire and making friends with other students from around the Triangle who share a common interest in music. Students can audition for either the big band or combo or both. A number of our students participate in both a big band and combo throughout the year.
The DJW instructors are some of the best area performers/teachers who excel at motivating students to explore the music they love so much.
The Youth Big Band will meet 10 times over the fall semester and 12 times in the winter/spring semester. Rehearsals will take place on Tuesday evenings 6 - 7:30pm. The fee is $350 per semester.
The Youth Combos will meet 12 times over the fall semester and 12 times over the winter/spring semester. Times/days TBD. The fee is $400 per semester.

Financial aid scholarships are available. The Durham Jazz Workshop never turns down an eligible student based on money.
