Ebeth Scott-Sinclair
I grew up in the Southeastern United States surrounded by diverse layers of culture, spirituality, history, and humor. This is reflected in an emotional world of juxtaposition conjured on my canvases. I am always searching for the feelings, personalities, and stories of people, objects, and places. Use of texture and vibrant color help me create and then access the private, quiet voice of truth that is often hidden behind public facades. I have been asked if I see the world the way I paint it. Yes, I do. I simply translate the everyday into other possibilities.
My work has been featured in publications, magazines and as cover art and has been represented by art galleries throughout the southeast. I was invited to appear as a featured artist for the book 100 Artists of the South by Ashley Rooney (Schiffer Publishing 2013) and will appear in the book Artists and their Studios (Spring, 2014.)
