Heart of Carolina Jazz Orchestra 
Since 1991, The Heart of Carolina Jazz Society has programed a regular series of events throughout the fiscal year, primarily concert presentations and rehearsals by the Heart of Carolina Jazz Orchestra (a community orchestra formed by Dr. Gregg Gelb when he was Visiting Artist at Central Carolina Community College from 1989-1991) and educational outreach events associated with the concerts. Special guest artist concerts are a regular part of the programming. World famous jazz artists have appeared in our series: Cecile McLorin Salvant, Bud Shank, Dave Valentin, Houston Person, just to name a few.
