The Durham Jazz Workshop is now registering students, our goal is to provide young musicians an exceptional learning experience: to Inspire and educate. Our small combos will challenge students to reach above their comfort zone while learning music from the classic jazz repertoire, and making friends with other students from around the Triangle who share a common interest in Jazz.
Students will have the opportunity to perform on one of NC best Jazz Stages, for parents and friends.
The Durham Jazz Workshop runs combos and improvisation classes for middle and high school students throughout the year and a summer camp every July.
Classes and combos meet weekday evenings or Saturdays for 2hrs over 6 consecutive weeks. Tuition is $275. After each 6 week term, there is one week off. Students interested to continue can re-register for the following 6 week session.

The DJW instructors are some of the best area performers/teachers. They motivate students to explore Jazz and develop the language necessary to improvise in a homegrown cultural art form.
Financial aid scholarships are available. The Durham Jazz Workshop never turns down an eligible student based on money.
