Summer camp: July 13 to July 17, 2026
Hours: 9am - 12pm daily
The camp is open to middle and High school students: brass (trumpet, trombone), saxophone (alto, tenor, baritone and soprano), Piano, guitar, bass, drums, and vocalists. The camp provides Pianos, complete drum sets, and amps, so students don't have to bring their own.
Jazz Combos (students will be placed into groups according to level, not age).
Middle school and high school students can apply. The camp is not a beginner instrumental class, so students should be fairly advanced on their instruments and have a working knowledge of scales to get the most out of it.
Beginner groups will learn some core jazz songs and be introduced to improvisation. More advanced students will also learn an essential jazz standard repertoire and are expected to have had some prior improvisation knowledge.
Tuition: $400 (financial aid is available)
A recital will be held July 17 on our stage @Sharp9Gallery.
*The Durham Jazz Workshop can operate a safe camp experience. Air purifiers are stationed throughout the venue.
